County of Chesterfield offers 7 residential recycling centers for our citizens.

You can recycle used motor oil, filters, and more because the following products are accepted and may be put into any used oil collection tank.
- motor oil
- hydraulic fluid
- gear oil
- diesel fuel
- fuel oil
- kerosene
- lamp oil
- automatic transmission fluid
- power steering fluid
All Chesterfield County Recycling Centers accept used motor oil and oil filters for recycling. The used oil must originate from do it yourself oil changers. No large or bulk type disposals are permitted.
Household Garbage must be bagged and must not originate from a commercial, industrial, or municipal source. Free Recycling there is no charge to recycle materials accepted in the Chesterfield County program.
Brown Goods consist of household furniture, carpet, wooden swing sets, small quantities of painted lumber and other similar items. The cost for disposal is $7.50 per half ton pickup load of $1.50 per individual item (e.g. chair, mattress, etc.).
Open Burning is illegal and is defined as burning of any material in an open fire or outdoor container. For more information, call your local DHEC Environmental Quality Control District Office at 843-661-4825.
